FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The final regular season road game will bring the Fairfield University Baseball team to Loudonville, N.Y., as they take on the Siena Saints on Saturday afternoon at 2pm. The Stags will bring their first-place record of 17-1 into the contest with a 23-4 overall mark.
The Stags are coming off their best defensive effort of the season, holding the Saint Peter's Peacocks to just 30 points on 12 made field goals. The 30 points allowed were the fewest the Stags have given up against a Division I opponent in the four years under Head Coach
Carly Thibault-DuDonis.
The defensive pressure started early as the Stags surrendered just two points in the first quarter on just three field goal attempts. Fairfield forced 11 first quarter turnovers en-route to 28 Saint Peter's miscues, tying a season-high.
Over their last nine wins, the Stags have limited their opponents to just 2.2 made 3-pointers on a .175 clip.
Coach Carly also picked up her 98th career victory and moved into ninth among active head coaches with her .789 win percentage.
On the offensive side, the Stags connected on 11 made 3-pointers totaling 326 for the season. Fairfield has already broken the conference's single-season record which was set by Quinnipiac during the 2014-15 season.
Meghan Andersen led the Stags with 15 points on three made 3-pointers. She moved into third on both the career (212) and single-season (78) 3-point list.
Kaety L'Amoreaux also reach double-figures and moved past the 500-point mark for her junior season. She became the 13th Stag to ever reach that number and now sits 10th on the single-season chart.
Siena brings a 9-8 mark into the contest and will be without their leading scorer Francesca Schiro who will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
Fairfield will conclude their regular season when they host crosstown rivals Sacred Heart and celebrate the Senior Class of 2026 with a special ceremony before the Saturday night game. Tip-off will be at 7pm with Senior Night festivities starting around 6:20.
