Stags Hit The Road to Face Saint Peter’s

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will hit the road for the first time in the 2026 calendar year when they head to Jersey City, N.J., to face the Saint Peter's Peacocks on Thursday night at 6pm. Fairfield will be looking for their eighth-straight win overall and move their record in conference play to an unblemished 6-0.

Fairfield's seven-game winning streak ranks in the top-20 in the country and has helped them move into third on the College Insider Mid-Major Top-25 poll.

The Stags' most recent win against Niagara was an historic one as the Stags saw some memorable performances. The one at the top was junior Kaety L'Amoreaux who became the first Stag in program history to record a triple double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. She was the eighth player in conference history to achieve that feat. The 10 boards and 10 helpers also set career-highs. She is now 16 points shy of becoming the 36th Stag in program history to reach 1,000 career points.

Junior Road Runner Meghan Andersen led all scorers in the victory with 30 points, the third time this season she has reached the 30-point mark. She was named the MAAC Player of the Week for the second time this season after averaging 22.3 points per game and shooting 53 percent from 3-point range. She regained the conference lead in scoring with an 18.9 average, which places her in the top-40 in Division I.

In the win, the Stags tallied 98 points, their highest point total against a Division I opponent since 1999. Fairfield also dished out 30 assists which is their most in a game since 1991. Finally, their 56-point victory marked the highest winning margin against a Division I foe in program history.

Jillian Huerter also reached a milestone, netting her 100th career 3-pointer. She accomplished the feat in just 69 games with 42 of those triples coming as a Stag.

As a team, the Stags connected on 15 long-range shots against the Purple Eagles, keeping their national lead with 12.3 3-pointers per game and moving up to third in the country in 3-point percentage.

Saint Peter's enters the game with a 2-3 conference record after wins over Canisius and Niagara. De'Naya Rippey is the team leader in points (12.8) and rebounds (9.3).

Fairfield will have nearly a week-long break before traveling to Marist for a Wednesday morning game at 11am.
