Stags Host Manhattan to Begin Home Weekend

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will return to Leo D. Mahoney Arena for a home weekend that starts with a Saturday afternoon contest against Manhattan at 2pm. The Stags bring an unblemished 7-0 conference record into the weekend, tying for the top spot in the MAAC. Fairfield has also rallied off 19-straight home wins which is the second-longest streak in program history and the fifth-longest active streak in Division I.

The only time that the Stags have won more consecutive home contests was a three-year stretch that started on Jan. 24, 1990 until Dec. 10, 1992 and lasted 21-straight games. The only Division I teams with a longer active home winning streak than Fairfield are: TCU and Texas (36 games), UNC Greensboro (27), and Green Bay (20).

Fairfield has also been among the nation's most successful teams on the road, registering 47 wins under Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis, marking the most in the country during that span.

The Stags picked up another road win with a 14-point victory on Wednesday morning at Marist, marking their ninth-straight win overall. Fairfield's defense locked down the Red Foxes, holding them to just 49 points and 37 percent shooting. It marked the third time in their last four games the Stags have held an opponent to fewer than 50 points.

Meghan Andersen was one of three Stags in double-figures with her third career double-double comprising 14 points and a personal-best 13 rebounds.

Kaety L'Amoreaux led the team in scoring for the tenth time this season, finishing with 19 points and keeping the top-spot among the conference's scoring leaders.

Jillian Huerter continued her hot stretch with a season-high tying 13 points on two made 3-pointers.

The two teams will close out their season series with Fairfield grabbing an 84-59 victory in late December. The Jaspers are now 4-3 in the conference with Brianna Davis as their leading scorer (11.9 points per game) and Agar Farres Garcia as their leading rebounder (7.6).

Fairfield will complete their quick two-game home stand against Siena on Monday at 2pm. The women's basketball program will be celebrating their fourth annual Black Excellence game on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
