Stags Sign Graduate Transfer Jalyn Sackrider

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team has announced the signing of graduate transfer Jalyn Sackrider, a 6-3 Road Runner out of Evergreen State College to the 2025-26 squad. Sackrider was a First Team All-Conference performer for the Geoducks and earned the team's Most Valuable Player award as well as the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Co-Defensive Player of the Year honor.

"We are thrilled to add Jalyn to our 2025-2026 roster!," Head Coach Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "She provides tremendous depth to our Road Runner position with offensive versatility and brings a shot blocking ability that we simply haven't had on our roster before.  Her presence in the paint will only elevate our defensive disruption and prowess, which was already top in the MAAC and 11th in opponent points per game in the country.  I have the BEST staff in the nation.  They continually find hidden gems who not only fit the way that we play, but also fit our culture and embody what it means to be a Stag!"

Sackrider was a four-year starter for the Evergreen State College women's basketball team, making 94 starts in her 96 appearances, the third-most in program history. She also ranked fourth all-time with 966 points and broke the program's single game (eight), single season (71) and career (190) records for blocks. She also helped the Geoducks qualify for the conference tournament in each of the past three seasons.

She was a First Team All-CCC performer during her senior year where she averaged 12.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. She tallied a career-high 26 points and hauled in 13 rebounds in a game against Multnomah in December.

She was a three-time Academic All-CCC honoree and was chosen as an Academic All-District selection by the College Sports Communicators after her senior season.

Sackrider competed in three sports for the Geoducks, qualifying for the CCC Championships in the discuss throw three times for the track and field team. She placed third in the CCC in the discus this spring with a school record distance of 40.82 meters (133' 11"), as she earned All-Conference recognition.

In volleyball, she played in 19 matches in 2021 while competing in 63 sets. She earned 48 total blocks, including 13 solo blocks, and provided the Geoducks with 56 kills.

She was presented with the Career Achievement Award from Evergreen State after her final season.

The Stags are coming off back-to-back MAAC Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time in school history while also receiving votes in the AP Top-25 Poll in both campaigns.
