FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University men's soccer team will play a 16-game schedule which includes a home match with defending national champion University of Vermont on September 20. The Vermont game is one of nine home games on this the 2025 docket as the Stags begin their second season under Head Coach
Krystian Witkowski.
Half of the teams on the 2025 schedule posted winning records including three teams that won 11 or more games a year ago – Vermont (16 wins), Iona (11 wins), and Rider (14 wins). Four of the six non-conference opponents on the schedule finished a .500 or better record.
'We are thrilled about this year's championship schedule, which offers a mix of opponents from various conferences, diverse playing styles, and the current national champions," Coach Witkowski said. "With several new additions to the team, we must quickly identify our strengths, and I am confident that the schedule will present the right challenges to prepare us for MAAC competition."
Fairfield plays five of its first seven dates at home, a stretch which ends with the Stags hosting the Catamounts. The season opens on the road, sending Fairfield to Army West Point on August 21 for a 4 pm start. The Stags return home for a pair of non-conference games, welcoming Monmouth University on August 25 at 7 pm followed by a match up with Brown University on September 1.
After a quick trip to Lafayette College on September 6, Fairfield begins a three-game home stand that includes its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opener. The run begins with Columbia University coming to Lessing Field on September 10 before Niagara University starts the MAAC slate on September 15 with a 2 pm kick off. The home stand ends with Vermont, the final non-conference game on this year's schedule.
Fairfield's final nine games are all against MAAC opponents beginning with road games at Siena College on September 27 and Marist University on October 1. Iona University comes to the Fairfield campus on October 4 before the team heads south for an October 11 date against Rider University.
Coach Witkowski sees his squad play three of its next four matches at home, beginning with Merrimack College on October 15. After the team returns form Manhattan University on October 18, Fairfield will host Mount St. Mary's University on October 25 and Quinnipiac University on October 29. The regular-season concludes with a quick crosstown ride to Sacred Heart University on November 5.
