FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. – The Fairfield University men's golf squad improved its team score by 14 strokes on Thursday shooting a +16 (304) over the final round of play after notching a 318 as a group over the first 18-holes on Wednesday, as the Stags wrapped up play at the Sacred Heart University
Spring Break Invitational at Eagle Harbor Golf Club in the Sunshine State of Florida. Fairfield moved up one spot in the team standings on Thursday to finish in seventh place in the nine-team event.
Colin Summers finished with a 74 on Thursday after shooting a 76 on Wednesday to lead the Stags in the individual standings at +6 for the tournament which put him in a seventh place tie.
Tadgh Burke shot an even par 72 on Thursday, an eight-shot improvement over his opening round, to go +8 for the 36-holes and finish in a tie for 14th place over the two days of action.
Peter Crowe wrapped up play in Florida with a 76 after opening with 81 to card a +13 for the tournament to put him in a tie for the 26th spot.

Chase Millar with a pair of 83s and
Anthony Naples with back-to-back days of 84 completed the Stags in action at the SHU Spring Break Invite.
As a team, the Fairfield finished eight strokes ahead of seventh place Monmouth. Host Sacred Heart (+20) won the team event nipping second place St. John's (+21) by one stroke over the 36-holes.
Sacred Heart's Ethan Phillips was the top individual finisher over the two days shooting a one under par 71 on both days to edge Peicheng Chen of St. John's by one stroke.
Next on the schedule for the Fairfield men's golf team is a trip to the Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links in Berlin, Maryland for the Battle of Rum Pointe hosted by Iona University on March 28 and 29.
