LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Fairfield University Men's Golf improved its team score by six strokes in the second round of the 2026 MAAC Championship, moving up one spot to fourth place on the team ledger.
Peter Crowe and
Rasmus Ditzinger each carded an even-par 72 to lead the Stags' Wednesday performers at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course.
Ditzinger added a 72 to his opening-round 70 to sit at 142 (-2) heading into Thursday's final round. The All-MAAC First Team selection is third on the individual ledger, trailing pacesetter KC Nickel of Siena by four strokes and second-place Jennings Oelke of Iona by a pair.
Crowe's par marked a four-stroke improvement from his opening round as the junior surged from a tie for 30th place into a tie for 14th on the leaderboard at 148 (+4).
Tadgh Burke and
Gustaf Fehn each share a piece of 27th place at 152 (+8), and
Anthony Naples entered the lineup on Thursday and contributed to the team scoring with a 75 (+3).
Iona recorded the best round of the tournament thus far with a 286 (-2) in the second round round out a 575 (-1) and widen its lead to six strokes over second-place Sacred Heart. Siena is two shots back of the Pioneers in third place followed by the Stags at 592 (+17). Fairfield currently owns a five-stroke lead over fifth-place Manhattan.
The final round of the 2026 MAAC Championship is for Thursday beginning at 8 a.m. The Stags will take the course with tee times starting at 9:30 a.m.
