ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Fairfield University swimming and diving teams completed their first day at the 2025 ECAC Championships, hosted by the United States Naval Academy. The women's team holds sixth place out of 19 teams while the men's squad ranks sixth out of 19 entries.

The two teams also finished in identical positions in the 200 free relay with the women clocking in at 1:36.21 for fifth place in the A final while the men took the same slot in the A final with a time of 1:22.08. On the women's side, Holly Rahurahu, Lauren Patalano, Cailey Stockwell, and Abbie Digregorio comprised the Stags' entry. The men's foursome included Nicholas Besgen, Tim Regan, Oliver McLaughlin, and Joseph Stewart.

Ella Lepis was next up for the Stags as she secured seventh in the B final of the 500 free, completing the event in 5:11.81. Olivia Glaser also earned a spot in the B final of the 200 IM, placing third with her time of 2:06.90. Jack Behm also garnered a spot in the B final of the same event, touching the wall in 1:52.70 for fifth place in the race.

Rahurahu returned to the pool for the B final of the 50 free, collecting sixth place after closing the distance in 24.17.

The 400 medley relay was next up on the docket and the women's crew held fourth place by recording a time of 3:47.30 behind the efforts of Patalano, Tone Sandsjo, Lara Kisakol, and Rahurahu. The men also garnered fourth place in 3:17.37 with the Stags grouping consisting of Max McMillan, Enrique Garcia, Tim Regan, and Joseph Stewart.

The second day of the ECAC Championships begins on Saturday with the swimming preliminaries slated for 10 am followed by the finals at 6 pm. The diving session will also start on Saturday beginning at 1 pm.
