FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University swimming and diving programs will continue their season by traveling to the 2025 ECAC Championships, hosted by the United States Naval Academy this weekend. The event begins with Friday preliminaries at 10 am and continues through Sunday's finals which start at 4 pm.
This weekend's competition will be the first for the Stags since they battled at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships on February 12-15. The women's team came away with second place in the 12-team event while the men's squad collected third place in a field of nine teams.
The Stags had several outstanding performances at the MAAC Championships, highlighted by gold medal performances by Christopher Weber (200 fly – 1:46.89), Chris Dauser (100 fly – 47.57),
Tone Sandsjo (100 breast – 1:00.01),
Erini Pappas (100 back – 55.43), Andrew Cataldo (1-meter diving – 284.55), and the women's 200 medley relay (Pappas, Sandsjo,
Lara Kisakol,
Olivia Thompson – 1:40.61).
Fairfield will have representatives in every event at the ECAC Championships, including all relay events. The Stags are one of the 28 teams that will have at least one competitor in the championships. Fairfield will see 32 student-athletes compete during the three-day event.
