FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University women's rowing team earned the number three position in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Coaches Poll, earning 60 points in the annual rankings. Jacksonville University collected six first-place votes which propelled the team to the top spot in the preseason poll with 77 points while Sacred Heart University garnered three top votes that translated into 75 points and a second-place ranking.

Marist College placed fourth in the poll with 57 points, followed by Stetson University with 45 points, Drake University with 31 points, Canisius University with 30 points, while Iona University and Robert Morris University tied for eighth with 15 points. The top three positions in the 2025 preseason coaches poll mirrored the 2024 MAAC Championship results with Jacksonville winning its third straight MAAC title followed by Sacred Heart and Fairfield to round out top team spots. 

The Fairfield University wonen's rowing program, under Head Coach Dr. David Patterson, will open the 2025 spring season at the Jesuit Invitational on March 22 with the event taking place in Philadelphia.
