EDISON, N.J. – Fairfield University Women's Basketball guard
Kaety L'Amoreaux was named the Air Force Reserve MAAC Player of the Week for the second time this season. In Fairfield's 1-1 week, L'Amoreaux filled out the box score with a 14.5 points per game scoring average while also adding 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 3.0 steals, and a .450 3-point shooting percentage.
"Kaety is one of the most consistent workers and competitors I've ever coached, and is so deserving of her effort being recognized," Head Coach
Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "She has continued to grow her game, be efficient in her scoring, and make those around her better and she is a huge factor in our ability to compete against the best teams in the country."
L'Amoreaux started her week by leading the Stags to a home victory over New Haven while pacing the Stags in almost every category including: points (17), rebounds (seven), assists (five), and adding a career-high six steals. She also shot 50 percent from behind the 3-point line while connecting on three of her six attempts.
She also showed her defensive tenacity, leading the Stags with a personal-best six steals that set the tempo for a Fairfield defense that forced 28 Charger turnovers.
In the game at No. 11 Iowa, L'Amoreaux once again finished in double-figures with 12 points while tying for the team lead with four assists.
She has now reached double-figures in scoring in eight-straight games, the longest streak of her career.
For the season, she ranks in the top-60 in the country in three different statistics including: free throw percentage (.958), assists per game (5.2), and 3-pointers per game (2.7). She also leads the conference in assist/turnover ratio (1.48) while placing second in points per outing (17.5).
L'Amoreaux and the rest of the Stags will continue their three-game road trip with a weekend trip to the state of Virginia, starting with a contest against Howard on Friday at noon.
