FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will play in their first game of the 2025 calendar year when they visit the Rider Broncs on Thursday at 6pm. The Stags are coming off a 76-61 victory over Mount St. Mary's in their first conference contest and were led by sophomore guard
Kaety L'Amoreaux who paced the squad with 23 points and nine rebounds.
L'Amoreaux's 23-point outburst was her second-straight game pouring in 20 or more points. During that span she is averaging 26.5 points per game while shooting 66 percent from the floor and an outstanding 77 percent on 2-point attempts. In the game against the Mount, she also tied her career-high with six assists while also recording four steals.
The sophomore guard now leads the conference in field goal percentage with her .480 mark which also ranks in the top-third in the country. She has also taken over the team lead with her 14.7 scoring average which is also fifth in the league.
Senior roadrunner
Emina Selimovic has also been impressive on the offensive front, shooting 65 percent and 54 percent from 3-point range over her last six games. She finished with 18 points against the Mount, her fifth double-digit scoring game of the season.
Rider enters play with a 2-8 overall record after dropping their conference opener to Quinnipiac. Gabby Turco is the team's leading scorer with 13.6 points per game.
The Stags will have a quick turnaround and will host Merrimack on Saturday at Leo D. Mahoney Arena at 2pm.
