FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Nine Fairfield University women's rowers were honored by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) for their success in the classroom as the organization named its annual Scholar Athletes for the 2023-24 academic year.

Marianna Kalin (Management),
Catherine Morrissey (Nursing),
Julianna Pedrazzi (Accounting),
Miranda Schmidt (Economics),
Emma Szachta (Nursing),
Alexandra Tomlinson (Nursing),
Mia Van Mater (Behavioral Neuroscience), and
Sarah Wendling (Nursing) represented Fairfield on this year's list of honorees.
To qualify as a CRCA Scholar Athlete, an athlete must meet academic and athletic requirements such as being in at least their second year of eligibility and maintaining an average cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Additionally, student-athletes must have rowed in their institution's NCAA eligible boats for a minimum of 75 percent of the 2024 spring races or race in an NCAA boat at their conference or NCAA championship.
