FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The No. 25 Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will compete in their first-ever game as a nationally-ranked team when they travel to Jersey City, N.J., to face the Saint Peter's Peacocks in the final regular season road game. The Stags will enter with a 24-game winning streak, the second-longest active streak in the country.
In one of the most historic weeks in the history of the program, the Stags found themselves in the national rankings, placing in No. 25 in the most recent Associated Press (AP) Top-25 poll. The Stags have built an impressive resume this season, highlighted by a 26-1 overall record which represents the second-highest winning percentage in the country. They have also already clinched the MAAC Regular Season Championship with a perfect 18-0 conference mark. The 26 victories also set a new single season record.
Fairfield also enters the week as the top team outside the Top-25 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and also moved up two spots in the College Insider Mid-Major Poll to be slotted in the top-five.

Meghan Andersen, earned her 11th MAAC Rookie of the Week award this past week, tying for the second-most in conference history. She is one accolade shy of tying the all-time record set by Iona's Joy Adams.
Fairfield also enters the contest ranked in the Top-25 nationally in seven different statistical categories, highlighted by their defense. Fairfield ranks fifth in scoring defense (53.9), sixth in field goal percentage defense (.352), and 20th in 3-point percentage defense (.269).
The Stags are one of four MAAC programs ever to be ranked in the AP Top-25 and the first since Marist over a decade ago.
Saint Peter's enters play with a 7-20 overall record and a 4-14 mark in the MAAC after their exciting win at Marist. Jada Leonard is the team's leading scorer at 12.6 points per game while Fatmata Janneh leads the glass with 8.0 rebounds.
The No. 25 Stags will conclude their regular season and celebrate the Class of 2024 on Senior Day against Rider at the Leo D. Mahoney Arena on Saturday at 2pm.
