FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will hit road on Saturday afternoon when they head to Manhattan to challenge the Jaspers at 2pm. The Stags are coming off their 25th win of the season, tying the program's single season wins record. Fairfield also brings a 23-game winning streak into the contest, tying Gonzaga for the second-longest in the nation.
The Fairfield defense locked down in-state rivals Quinnipiac on Thursday night, holding the Bobcats to just 46 points on a .281 field goal percentage. It was the 11th time this season the Stags have held an opponent to fewer than 50 points and the ninth time they have limited a foe to shoot less than 30 percent in a contest.
Fairfield enters the road contest as the conference leader in scoring defense, holding opponents to just 53.9 points per game, the seventh best number in the country. The Stags are also limiting their opposition to a .351 field goal percentage, the lowest in the MAAC and the ninth lowest in Division I.
Emina Selimovic led all scorers with 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting.
Janelle Brown joined her in double-figures with 13 points while connecting on five of her 10 field goal attempts.

Meghan Andersen had one of her best defensive games of her career with a game-high five blocked shots while also leading the team with three steals and tying a team-best seven rebounds. With the combination of her, Selimovic, and Mackenzie Daleba in the paint, the Fairfield defense held Quinnipiac's leading scorer Anna Foley to just 12 points on 3-for-16 shooting.
Fairfield enters the weekend on the cusp of the national rankings, earning 49 points in the most recent AP Top-25 rankings, marking them as the top-team in the "Others Receiving Votes" category. They also earned 12 points in the USA Today's Coaches Poll.
Manhattan enters play with a 17-9 overall record which includes a 10-7 league mark and an impressive 10-2 showing at home. Ines Gimenez Monserrat is the team's leading scorer at 10.7 points per game while Petra Juric is right behind her and also leads the squad with 8.0 rebounds per game.
The Stags will go on their final road trip of the regular season, meeting Saint Peter's on Thursday at 7pm.
