SHELTON, Conn. – The Fairfield University women's rowing team capped its fall season with several strong performances at the Heart of the Housatonic, highlighted by second-place runs by the varsity 8 and the novice 8.
The varsity 8 started the day with Fairfield's crew completing the distance in 17:39, which was just nine seconds off Sacred Heart's first-place time. The boat consisted of

Catherine Morrissey, and coxswain Lexi Tomlinson.
The second varsity 8 secured 11th in the race based on its finish of 18:31 behind the efforts of
Cate Quinones, Julie Pedrazzi,
Victoria Conrad,
Megan Rourke,
Emma Szachta,
Sarah Wendling,
Sophia Malina,
Grace McDonough, and coxswain
Alisa Tsavaris. The third varsity 8 crossed the line in 20:06 which ranked 19th with
Katherine Schelleng,
Cailey Chechitelli,
Alyssa Colombrita, Alex Harrington,
Raquel DeLeo,
Taylor Brennan,
Ainsley Hoekzema,
Ava Bistoff, and coxswain Grace Tyska.
The Stags also gained another runner-up placement by the novice 8, coming home with a time of 20:57 which trailed only UConn (19:47) in the standings. Fairfield was represented by Zoey Ames,, Milly Olch, Isabela Arteaga, Sadie Eppinger, Sasha Atencio, Jill Newman, Nora O'Connell, Molly Cleary, and coxswain
Emma Sieger.
The varsity 4 rounded out the afternoon for the Stags, taking the 10
th slot among the final times, crossing the line in 19:47.9.
