WEST ORANGE, N.J.-The Fairfield University men's golf team wrapped up its 2024 Fall schedule on Tuesday afternoon with a strong showing over the two rounds of the 2024 Metropolitan Championship Tournament, as three Stags posted Top-10 finishes in the 36-hole event. The tournament took place at the prestigious Montclair Golf and Country Club in West Orange, New Jersey.
Peter Crowe led Fairfield with a third place finish going +2 (72) on Monday and finished with a round of +4 (72) on Tuesday to go +6 for the tourney.
Colin Summers finished in a tie for fifth place at the Montclair Golf Club finishing at +7 for the event, as he went +2 and +5 over the two rounds.
Rasmus Ditzinger rounded out the trio of Top-10 Stags, as he tied for ninth place one stroke behind Summers at +8 for the two days, as he fired a +3 on Monday and finished at five over par.
Tadgh Burke, Chase Millar and Joey Vandergeest rounded out the Fairfield squad in the Garden State.
Fordham's Jake Mrva took first place on the leaderboard going +2 for the tournament.
As a team over the two days, Fairfield finished in third place with a +40 for the two rounds, just four strokes behind second place Fordham. The University of Rhode Island took home the team crown at the 2024 Metropolitan Championship finishing at +19 for the 36 holes.
Fellow MAAC members Manhattan finished in fourth place, Sacred Heart slotted in sixth place and St. Peter's finished in ninth place in West Orange.
