Lucier Signs Professional Contract in Frontier League

BROCKTON, Mass. – Former Fairfield University Baseball shortstop Noah Lucier has signed a professional contract with the New England Knockouts of the MLB-partnered Frontier League. Lucier was an All-MAAC First Team shortstop with the Stags while also being one of five finalists for the Brooks Wallace Award, an honor given to the best collegiate shortstop in the country.

"Noah had such a tremendous year both offensively and defensively here at Fairfield last year," Head Coach Bill Currier said. "I have no doubt he will even be better as a pro as he gets stronger and older."

Lucier was the team leader with 84 hits during the 2023 campaign, the second-most in a season in program history. He also finished third in the MAAC with 62 runs scored and fifth in average at .364. He also led the team with 29 multi-hit games, including seven contests where he picked up three.

Defensively, he committed just three errors in 174 chances and registering a .985 fielding percentage. For his success, Lucier became the first shortstop in program history to become a Brooks Wallace Award Finalist, an award recognizing the best collegiate shortstop in the country.

Lucier helped the Stags to their third-straight MAAC Regular Season Championship while registering 37 wins overall in 2023. He also helped the Stags to the MAAC Championship Series and the most regular season victories in program history.

The New England Knockouts are in their first season in the MLB-partnered Frontier League and play their Campanelli Stadium, located in Brockton, Massachusetts.
