FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team has announced the non-conference portion of their 2023-24 campaign which features contests against seven different conferences and three postseason squads from last season. The schedule is highlighted with representatives from the Big Ten, SEC, Big East, and the A-10, including the reigning NEC Champions Sacred Heart in a crosstown showdown. The slate begins with a visit from Lehman College to open up the second season at the Leo D. Mahoney Arena on Monday, Nov. 6.
"We are looking forward to challenging our team early and often with a competitive and balanced non-conference schedule," Head Coach
Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "Our goal every year is to use the non-conference to prepare us as much as possible to compete for a MAAC championship and beyond."
Including the pending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) schedule, the Stags' three non-conference home outings bring the total to 13 games set to be played at Leo D. Mahoney Arena in the 2023-24 season. Season tickets are on sale now at

The Stags will open up their 43rd Division I season when they welcome the Lehman College Lightning to the Leo D. Mahoney Arena on Nov. 6.
Fairfield will then begin a five-game road trip which will last for the rest of November, starting with a trip to Nashville, Tenn. The trip will start with Fairfield's first-ever game against Lipscomb University on Friday, Nov. 10. The Bison are coming off a program record 20 wins last season including a 13-5 mark in the A-SUN.
The Stags will complete their weekend in the Music City when they take on Vanderbilt for a Sunday matchup on Nov. 12. This will be the first game between the two teams since 1999.
Fairfield will continue their road trip when they travel to Big Ten member Rutgers on Monday, Nov. 20.
The squad will play their final two road games of the trip closer to home, with both contests in their home state of Connecticut. Fairfield will take on Central Connecticut State on Sunday, Nov. 26, before concluding the long road trip against reigning NEC Champions Sacred Heart in a crosstown shown on Wednesday, Nov. 28. The Pioneers are coming off their first NEC Championship since 2012 and also their first-ever NCAA Tournament win as they defeated Southern in the First Four.
The Stags will then return to the Leo D. Mahoney Arena for the first time in a month when they host Big East squad St. John's on Thursday, Dec. 7. The Red Storm are coming off a 23-9 season which saw them record their most victories since the 2009-10 season, culminating in a First Four win in the NCAA Tournament. It will the first time the Stags will host St. John's since the 1998-99 campaign.
Fairfield will host another national postseason representative from last season during that weekend as Atlantic-10 member Fordham comes to town on Sunday, Nov. 10. The Rams went 19-13 last season, earning a spot in the WNIT where they picked up a win against Drexel in the first round.
The Stags will finally complete their non-conference slate with a road game against Stonehill on Saturday, Dec. 30.
Fairfield is in the second season under Head Coach
Carly Thibault-DuDonis, who led the Stags to a 15-15 overall mark and an 11-9 record in the MAAC. The Stags finished in the top-5 in the MAAC for the 15th time in the last 16 seasons. The Stags will welcome seven new players this season including three transfers joining the squad.
