FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Three members of the Fairfield University Women's Basketball team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team with
Kaety L'Amoreaux,
Meghan Andersen, and
Cyanne Coe earned the distinction. The trio all maintained a grade point average higher than 3.50 while appearing in 90 percent of the team's games.
"While winning basketball games is often the thing that most people on the outside see, Fairfield attracts highly motivated individuals both in academics and in athletics," Head Coach
Carly Thibault-DuDonis said. "Fairfield is committed to the holistic development of our student-athletes, in mind, body and spirit, and we try to help guide our young women to be successful in all aspects of their college experience. We are very proud of Meg, Cy, and Kaety for the work they've put into their academics and are happy to see them honored for their efforts."
L'Amoreaux has amassed a 3.80 GPA as a management major with two-straight appearances on the MAAC All-Academic team. She has appeared on the Fairfield Deans List in every semester while majoring in Fairfield's nationally-ranked Dolan School of Business. On the court, L'Amoreaux was named the MAAC Player of the Year after finishing a career season where she netted a league-best 570 points which was the fourth-most in a single season.
Andersen is also enrolled as a business major in the Dolan School of Business while holding a 3.68 GPA. She is also a two-time member on the MAAC All-Academic team and a consistent presence on the university's Deans List. On the court, Andersen earned her third-straight All-MAAC First Team honors while posting career-highs with 532 points and 88 made 3-pointers.
Coe makes her first appearance on the CSC All-District team after earning a 3.90 overall GPA as a Film, Television, and Media Arts major. In her sophomore season, Coe recorded the highest single-season field goal percentage in program history with a .642 clip while leading the team with 5.8 rebounds per game.
The trio led the Stags on and off the court culminating in Fairfield's third-straight MAAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. Fairfield also was ranked in the Associated Press (AP) Top-25 national poll and finished No. 2 in the College Insider Mid-Major Poll.
