SAN JOSÉ, COSTA RICA – Four Stags scored in double figures to lead Fairfield University Men's Basketball to an 88-64 win over the University of British Columbia in the second game of a three-game set at BN Arena in Costa Rica. The Stags outscored the Thunderbirds, 30-14, in the fourth quarter to seal the win
For the second straight game, Fairfield's attack was led by its three-point shooting as the Stags were 11-for-24 (45.8 percent) from distance this evening.
Michael Rogan had three of those triples on his way to a team-leading 17 points.
Also netting double figures were
Brycen Goodine with 14 points,
Louis Bleechmore with 12 and
Jalen Leach with 10. All three Stags have now scored in double figures in both games of the series.
After doling out 19 assists in Saturday's win, the Stags topped that mark with 20 helpers tonight.
Peyton Smith had a team-best five assists as a part of a solid nine-point, five-rebound and five-assist showing.
Birima Seck had a game-best nine rebounds to go along with his eight points as Fairfield held a convincing 42-25 advantage on the glass.
Tonight's game at BN Arena in Costa Rica's capital city of San José was the second of three contests in three days between Fairfield and the UBC Thunderbirds. A member of U Sports (Canada's equivalent to the NCAA) and the Canada West Conference, UBC went 22-10 last season. Fairfield won Saturday's opener by a score of 90-69.
