BOSTON, Mass. – Fairfield University Baseball senior infielder
Charlie Pagliarini was named the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) Player of the Year while three other Stags:
Ethan Hibbard,
Mike Becchetti, and

"I'm proud of the year and the impact these All-New England players made on our successful season at Fairfield," Head Coach
Bill Currier said. "Pags has broken many offensive records here at Fairfield and in the conference. His 97 RBI and 24 homers in 55 games is just outstanding as any coach would attest."
Pagliarini had the best offensive season in school history, breaking six single season program records including: home runs (24), RBI (97), total bases (177), slugging percentage (.851), on-base percentage (.528), and walks (49).
He won the conference's Triple Crown with his .399 batting average to go along with his league-leading home runs and RBI. He shattered the conference's single-season record in RBI that had stood for over a decade, besting the mark by 16.
He also ranked towards the top in the country in several of those categories including leading the nation in RBI per game at 1.76. Overall, his 97 RBI was second in the NCAA behind only Maryland's Nick Lorusso. He was fourth in the country in slugging percentage, seventh in total bases, and ranked eighth in both home runs and slugging percentage.
For his success, he was named a Collegiate Baseball Newspaper All-American Third Team, the MAAC Player of the Year as well as earning a spot on the All-MAAC First Team.
The Stags also had three selections to the NEIBA Second Team with Hibbard, Becchetti, and McVeigh all earning a spot.
Hibbard worked his way into being a steady presence in the Fairfield lineup and behind the plate, starting 30 games in his breakout season. He was one of the team's hottest bats down the stretch, homering in six-straight games while also being named a National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. Overall, he blasted nine homers with 10 doubles and 35 RBI with a .294 average in 37 games.
Becchetti led the league with 66 runs scored, the most by any MAAC player in over a decade, and setting the program record. He also led the team with 16 doubles and ranked in the top-10 in the MAAC with 73 hits, RBI (54), total bases (131), and walks (37). He amassed a 20-game hitting streak during the season, the second longest in program history. For his success, Becchetti was named to the All-MAAC First Team.
McVeigh posted an 8-1 record with a 3.93 ERA, the third lowest in the MAAC. His eight victories were tied for the most in the conference and the second most in a single season in program history. He posted a .251 batting average against, the fourth best in the MAAC while his 76 strikeouts ranked fifth. For his success, McVeigh was also named to the All-MAAC First Team.
The quartet helped the Stags to their third-straight MAAC Regular Season Championship, becoming the first MAAC program to win three-straight regular season titles outright. Fairfield also won 30 games for the fourth-straight season, winning 34 regular season contests, the most in program history.
