Baseball Announces 2024 Schedule

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Baseball team has announced their 2024 schedule which features 24 home games in their 52-game slate. The campaign begins with a weekend series against UNC Greensboro on Feb. 16 with the Stags returning to Alumni Diamond one month later for their home opener against Army West Point.

"This schedule is well-put together," Head Coach Bill Currier said. "There are certainly many challenging teams in locations where we hope will be warmer. I think it's well-put together before our conference kicks off, which actually starts with our 'bye weekend' where we will play NJIT and it's not very often when we can host one here at the Stag Dome. We're excited for the season."

The Stags will play their first 15 games on the road in five different states with weekend series against: UNC Greensboro (Feb. 16-18), James Madison (Feb. 23-25), George Mason (Mar. 1-3), and Florida Gulf Coast (Mar. 8-10). Fairfield will also travel for a midweek series against Saint Joseph's (Mar. 5-6) before playing a single game against Army West Point (Mar. 15).

The matchup against the Black Knights will begin a weekend where the Stags will play four games in a three-day span against three different opponents. Included in that stretch is a home doubleheader against Army West Point and Fordham to open their home slate on March 16.

Fairfield will host seven midweek games on the ledger, playing host to: UMass Lowell (March 26), Central Connecticut State (April 9), Hofstra (Apr. 16), Yale (Apr. 17), Sacred Heart (Apr. 23), Stony Brook (Apr. 30), and UMass (May 14).

The lone midweek travels for the Stags include at St. John's (Apr. 2) and Sacred Heart (Apr. 24).

In their most important part of their schedule, the Stags will host conference series against: Canisius (Apr. 5-7), Saint Peter's (Apr. 12-14), Siena (Apr. 26-28), and Quinnipiac (May 17-19).

Fairfield will travel to conference foes: Iona (Mar. 28-30), Mount St. Mary's (Apr. 19-21), Marist (May 3-5), and Niagara (May 10-12).

The Stags return 26 letterwinners to a team that went 37-18 last season including a 16-5 mark in the MAAC in grabbing their third-straight regular season crown. Fairfield finished runners up in the championship series, the fourth time in the last seven years they have played in the final series.
