RIDGEFIELD, N.J. – The Fairfield University rowing teams completed the fall season with a strong showing at the New York Rowing Association (NYRA) Fall Invitational.
Women's Rowing
The second varsity 4 competed in the event and secured first place in its heat by crossing the line in 8:10.11 and returned for first place in the A final by finishing the course in 8:22.57. The varsity 4 A boat took the top spot in its heat by completing the distance in 8:22.57 before rallying for the third-place finish in the A final with its time of 8:35.85.

The varsity 8 secured a third-place run in its heat with a time of 7:01.47 before capturing fifth in the final by finishing the race in 7:31.00. The Stags crew consisted of

The second varsity 8 garnered third place after rowing the heat in 7:19.36 which sent the crew to the final. The Stags crossed the line in 7:41.10 for first place in the B final.

Men's Rowing
The Stags took the top spot in the varsity 8, the second varsity 8, the third varsity 8, varsity 4 and novice 4.
The varsity 8 opened the Stags' day with a first-place run thanks to its 6:26.97 finish. The Fairfield eight was comprised by Zalan Kovacs, Sam Elliott, Brendan Martin, Jack Cartnick, Ean Ray, Connor Carroll, Michael Hamilton, Brady Stergion, and Matt Tarabocchia.
The second varsity 8 cross the finish line with a best time of 6:49.92 with James Casper, Dalton Vassanella, Owen Marquart, Will Kent, Luca Tarricone, Brian Peknic, Paris Fotiadis, and coxswain Maddy Gross competing in the event. The third varsity 8 enjoyed a first-place finish by taking the distance in 6:56.87 behind the efforts of George Voegele, Mike McCarthy, Tom McLaughlin, Pat Arsenault, Alex Hemmat, James Penczak, Frank DiNatale, Nick Tapinis, and coxswain Tom Flynn.
The novice 4 crossed the finish line first in 7:36.78 with Eamon Tonna, James Penczak, Zalan Kovacs, Sam Elliot competed in the event. The varsity 4 also secured first place based on its time of 7:14.07 as Michael Hamilton, Connor Carroll, Ean Ray, Brady Stergion, and coxswain Matt Tarabocchia.
