FAIRFIELD, Conn. (November 3, 2023) — Fairfield University announced today that James Johns, Sr., Assistant Men's Basketball Coach is stepping down from his position. Coach Johns joined Fairfield to support player recruitment and cultivation for which he made substantive contributions in his two years with the program.  Coach Johns also assisted with student-athlete development and mentoring, particularly through his work with front court players. As was evident upon his hire, Coach Johns has also been committed to making connections with and providing support to our student-athletes.
 
Coach Johns has dedicated his career to coaching and mentoring younger generations of players through the sport of basketball.  He is leaving the University on good terms, we appreciate his service, and we wish him success in his future endeavors.
