FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- For the second consecutive match, the Fairfield University men's soccer team will face an Ivy League opponent with its Saturday match up against Harvard University. The Stags will travel to Cambridge for a 1 pm start. Fairfield comes off a 3-1 home win over Princeton University last Saturday, improving the team's overall record to 4-3-0 so far in non-conference play.

Carl Rees witnessed his squad score a pair of second-half goals against the Tigers which proved to be the difference in the weekend match. Rasmus Sorensen-Rejnhold was responsible for the first of those goals, converting
Viggo Sjoberg's cross in the 63rd minute.
Thomas Drillien pushed the advantage to 3-1 when he accepted a ball from
Raz Amir and slid the ball past the Princeton goalkeeper in the 77th minute. Goalkeeper
James Anderson allowed one goal, an own goal in the 59th minute, and made six saves during his 90 minutes on the pitch. Fairfield's first goal was also an own goal that came off a free kick in the 27th minute.Â
The team will play its fourth road game of the campaign, winning the last two with one-goal decisions over Navy and Bryant.
Raz Amir scored all three of the team's goals during those two road wins, posting one in the 1-0 final against the Midshipmen and two in the final over the Bulldogs. The forward stands at the top of the Stags' leader board with three goals and three assists for nine points and has scored or assisted on six of the eight goals scored by the team this season.
Sorensen-Rejnhold also has three goals on the campaign with an additional assist for a total of seven points. Anderson continues to see his goals against average diminish by allowing three goals in the last three matches, one of which was the own goal against Princeton, which brings his mark to 1.86 for the season. He has collected 30 saves in seven matches including three dates with six or more stops (6 vs. Albany, 6 vs. Princeton, 10 vs. Rhode Island).
Harvard brings a 3-2-1 overall record into Saturday's match without having played a contest against an Ivy League opponent to date. The team owns an unblemished 3-0-0 mark on its home pitch, having beaten Central Connecticut State University in the season opener, Bryant University, and Quinnipiac University.
The Crimson registered seven of its 11 goals scored this season at home with Martin Vician pacing the offense overall with his four goals for eight points. He picked up two goals against Northeastern University on the road and two more in the home decision against Quinnipiac. Willem Ebbinge joins the offensive mix with two goals and team-best three assists for seven total points. Goalkeeper Oskar Nilsson has spent the majority of the time in box with 443 minutes, recording a 1.22 goals against average with a .684 save percentage (13 stops in six matches).
Following Saturday's date, Fairfield will open Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play against Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday, September 28. The match is scheduled for a 7 pm start.
