FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball program has announced the hiring of Alex McKinnon as the team's Director of Basketball Operations. McKinnon, a Fairfield native, spent the past year as the graduate assistant at Salisbury University. In her new position, she will be in charge of the day-to-day operations of the team including academic support and travel schedule.
 
"I am so excited to be back in Fairfield and to join a fantastic group of people on the staff and team," McKinnon said. "I am looking forward to seeing all that we can accomplish together."

She is a perfect fit to complete our staff as she is equally committed to the growth and development of our student-athletes, as well as bringing an elite level of organization and unflappability to our operations position. We are excited to welcome Alex back home to Fairfield!"
 
McKinnon returns to her hometown of Fairfield, Conn., after graduating from Fairfield Ludlowe in 2016. She spent the past season as the graduate assistant coach at Salisbury University where she helped the Sea Gulls to a 20-7 record and an At-Large berth into the NCAA Tournament. As an assistant coach, she was in charge of the development of the post players and helped Kaylee Otlowski to an All-American Honorable Mention selection.
 
McKinnon was a four-year letter winner at Montclair State where she was a 1,000-point scorer for the Red Hawks. In her four seasons, she helped the team to 88 victories including two NJAC Championships and three appearances in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament.
 
With the addition of McKinnon, the Fairfield Women's Basketball program has completed their 2022-23 coaching staff, the first under Head Coach Thibault-DuDonis.
