POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Another strong performance across the board saw Fairfield University women's tennis take down Marist, 6-1 Monday afternoon.

The Stags' opened the day with a clean sweep of the doubles' rounds beginning with a victory in the top flight, 6-1 by Paulina Bakaite and Francesca Karman who have now won back-to-back matches together. Amanda Nowak and Katarina Plumtree captured their team leading fourth win of the season, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles and in the No. 3 duel Sandra Bozinovic and Laina Campos won their third match together, 6-2.
In the singles round Bozinovic nabbed her team-leading 18th win of the season with a dominating 6-1, 6-1 victory in the top flight, followed by Plumtree's 11th victory of the year in the No. 2 match, 6-3, 6-4. Amanda Nowak collected her eighth win of the campaign at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-2, and Aina March stepped into the No. 5 spot and dropped just a single game on the way to a 6-1, 6-0 victory. In the No. 6 duel, Sophia Prinos split a closely contested match 7-5, 5-7 before taking the tiebreaker 10-5 to claim the match.
Fairfield women's tennis is back in action Wednesday when they return home to host Quinnipiac. First serve between the Stags and the Bobcats is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. from the WAC Tennis Courts.
