ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will look to complete their ultimate goal and take home the 2022 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship when they take on the third-seeded Manhattan Jaspers in the Championship Game on Saturday at 11am at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. The Stags will be looking for the fourth MAAC Championship in program history and the first since 1998. Fairfield also won the conference crown in 1988 and 1991. The contest will be broadcasted on ESPN News.

This is Fairfield's first appearance in a MAAC Championship Game since 2012 and the third under Head Coach
Joe Frager.

Fairfield advanced to the MAAC Championship after a dominating performance in the MAAC Semifinals, dishing out a season-high 22 assists while limiting Niagara to just 12 made field goals.

Rachel Hakes was at the forefront of Fairfield's passing attack as she dished out a season-high 12 assists, including the 400th of her career. She is now one of just ten Stags to accomplish that feat.

Lou Lopez-Senechal and
Sydney Lowery tied for the team-high with 14 points as the dup combined for seven made 3-pointers. Lopez-Senechal connected on three-straight long-range shots to end the first half and brought her single season point total to 563, the third most in program history.

Fairfield also scored a season-high 47 points in the second half and is averaging 45 second half points in the tournament.

The 24 wins this season is one shy of tying the program's single season mark. It is the most by any Stag team since the 2011-12 season.

The 14-game winning streak also ties the program's Division I record with the 1990-91 squad.

The Stags will be playing Manhattan in the MAAC Championships for the second-straight season and the 12th time in program history, with Fairfield holding a 6-5 record.

Fairfield will be looking for their fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, with the last coming as an At-Large selection in 2001.
