FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will begin a three-game road trip when they visit the Fordham Rams on Wednesday evening at 5:30pm at Rose Hill Gym. This will be the first matchup between the two schools since 1997. The game will air live on ESPN+ and also replayed on SNY at 8:30pm
The Stags will play three road games in an eight-day span after having a season-long 10 days off since their last game against Michigan. Fairfield fell to the eighth-ranked team in the nation 69-53, but held the Wolverines to their season-low in points (69), rebounds (32), and winning margin (16) entering the game.
Nine different players scored for the Stags in their setback against Michigan. Fairfield has now averaged 18.0 bench points in their last two games after combining for just 22 bench points in their first three.
Callie Cavanaugh and Izabela Nicoletti-Leite both scored in double figures with Cavanaugh netting a team-high 12 in the contest.
Fairfield's defense also forced 19 Michigan turnovers and will enter Wednesday's game forcing an average of 20.8 miscues per game, the second most in the MAAC and 47th highest in the nation.
Janelle Brown leads the Stags with 3.2 steals per game, ranking second in the conference and in the top-20 in the nation.
Fordham brings a 4-3 record into the contest under first-year Head Coach Candice Green. Three student-athletes tally double figures in scoring led by Asiah Dingle's 19.0 points per game. That scoring has helped the team average 77 points per contest.
Fairfield will continue their road trip with a visit to Binghamton on Saturday at 2pm.
