FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team has announced the hiring of Erin Ryder as the program's Director of Basketball Operations. Ryder, who spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Nyack College, will now be in charge of all the day-to-day operations within the program and their community outreach.
 
"We are pleased to welcome Erin to our staff," Head Coach Joe Frager said. "She brings an infectious enthusiasm and will be an asset to our program."
 
Ryder joins Fairfield after two seasons as an assistant coach at Nyack College where she assisted in all aspects of the women's basketball program. She aided in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes and utilized online recruitment websites to find and evaluate recruits during the pandemic restrictions. She was also helped the team's academic standing, working with the student-athletes to achieve higher grades.
 
Ryder played her collegiate basketball at Southern Connecticut State where she was named a team captain during her senior season. She helped the Owls to three NE-10 Tournament appearances including one NCAA Tournament appearance. She was also a member of the school's Dean List and NE-10 Honor Roll.
 
She joins a Fairfield program that has earned a top-half finish in the MAAC in 13 of their 14 seasons under Coach Frager. The Stags have posted 240 victories over those last 14 seasons.
