FAIRFIELD, Conn. – For the first time in two weeks, the Fairfield University men's soccer team will have an opportunity to play on its home pitch at Lessing Field on Tuesday night. The Stags will host the University of Hartford beginning at 7 pm, Fairfield's second home game against an intrastate team this season. Yale University served as the opponent for the team's home opener on September 3.

Fairfield comes off a pair of road setbacks since last playing at home, falling in overtime against Stony Brook and at Princeton University in the last outing. The Hartford match represents the team's final non-conference date this year with Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play commencing on September 29 at Saint Peter's University.

Jonathan Filipe saw his three-game scoring streak come to an end in the Princeton match, posting two goals and two assists for six points during the run. All three of those numbers represent team highs with Thomas Drillien placing second on the program's scoring list with two goals for four points. Rasmus Sorensen Rejnhold has the team's fifth goal which he posted against Yale.

All three Fairfield goalkeepers have seen time on the pitch this season although sophomore James Anderson has seen the most action recently by starting each of the last three dates. He has played 258 minutes during the three-game stretch and posted a .615 save percentage with a 1.71 goals against average. He is averaging just under three saves per game, notching eight stops to date.

Hartford comes to campus with a 1-4-2 overall record after dropping its America East opener to UMBC last weekend. UMBC tallied all of its goals in the first 25 minutes and held off Hartford for the remainder of the match.

Addrian Knights-Brown leads the team offensively with two goals for four points including the game-winning tally in the Hawks' 1-0 victory against Central Connecticut last Tuesday. Graduate student Tomer Drimmer places second on the team with a goal and an assist for three points followed by junior Nadav Datner with his one goal.

Goalkeeper Rotem Fadida has performed admirably for the Hawks with his numbers placing among the Northeast Conference leaders. He leads the conference with 27 saves in his seven matches and also sits fourth in both save percentage (.730) and goal against average (1.34).

"Hartford is well coached and well organized as a team," Head Coach Carl Rees said. "They are very dangerous on set pieces so we will be need to be ready in those situations. We are looking forward to coming back home because its been a tough run. We have played some very good teams in some difficult environments so we are looking forward to playing in front of our home fans."

Following the Hartford match, Fairfield will finish out the month on the road before returning to Lessing Field for an October 2 date with Niagara University. The game is scheduled for a 7 pm start.
