Men's Soccer Schedule Set For 2026 Season

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University men's soccer team will play a slate of six non-conference games in addition to its annual complement of Metro Conference contests to comprise the 2026 schedule. The Stags will split the schedule with eight home matches and eight away dates.

"This schedule gives our group a great balance of regional rivalries and national-profile opponents, with a variety of styles and conferences that will challenge us from opening night in Huntington all the way through November in Fairfield," Fairfield University Head Coach Krystian Witkowski said. "Our goal is to use these non-conference tests to harden us for The Metro Conference and to make sure we are playing our best soccer when it matters most at the end of the season."

The Stags will open the 2026 campaign on the road with a pair of formidable opponents in Marshall University and UConn. Marshall, which won the 2020 national title and was national runner up in 2024, will host Fairfield on August 20 for a 7:15 pm match up. One week later, the Stags will travel to UConn for an August 27 match with the Huskies, a program that won a game in the 2025 NCAA Championship.

Coach Witkowski will bring his team back from the road for a four-game home stand that spans 18 days to start September. Fairfield will host Lehigh University in its home opener on September 1 before welcoming Army West Point to campus on September 6.

The home stand continues with an in-state match against the University of New Haven on September 12 with The Metro Conference opener following on September 19 against Siena University, another NCAA tournament team from a year ago.

The conference slate dominates the rest of the way with Fairfield playing 10 of its final 11 regular-season matches against Metro opponents. The Stags head to Quinnipiac University on September 26 and Saint Peter's University on September 30 to close out the month.

October begins with another home game as Manhattan University will make the trip to Lessing Field on October 3. After a trip to Mount St. Mary's on October 10, Fairfield will host Marist University for a midweek match on October 14.

The schedule will send Fairfield to Iona University on October 17 for an afternoon match up, setting up Fairfield's final non-conference date on October 20 for a road trip to Yale University.
The Stags will sandwich its final road game of the season, an October 31 game at Niagara University, around home games against Canisius University on October 24 and Sacred Heart University on November 4.

"As we look ahead to the fall, we are excited about the competitive schedule we've put together, including a recently crowned national champion in Marshall, a Sweet 16 team in UConn and local Connecticut matches against Yale, and the University of New Haven," Coach Witkowski said.

The 2026 Metro Conference men's soccer championship will cover three dates in November with the first round taking place on November 8. The top four teams will advance to the semifinal on November 12. The semifinal winners will face each other on November 15 for the conference championship.
