Stags Run Winning Streak to Five with 6-1 Victory at Quinnipiac

Fairfield stays unbeaten in the MAAC at 4-0

HAMDEN, Conn. – Fairfield University Men's Tennis rolled to its fifth straight win on Saturday afternoon with a 6-1 victory at Quinnipiac. The Stags swept the doubles point and picked up five straight-set singles wins to fill out the triumph over their in-state conference foe.
 
Fairfield's five-game winning streak includes a 4-0 tally in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Stags host fellow 4-0 MAAC squad Monmouth tomorrow at the Walsh Athletic Center Outdoor Courts.
 
"We came out with a ton of energy from the first point to the last point and played some great tennis today," said Head Coach Jeff Bricker. "I'm proud of the fight that we are showing right now. We're looking forward to getting right back to work tomorrow as well as honoring our seniors before our final home match."
 
The clean sweep in doubles consisted of wins by Kaya Gore and Stathis Tsiranidis at #1, Jonathan Olive-Blanco and Keean Shah at #2 and Allan Magid and Lewis Edwards at #3.
 
In singles play, Gore led the way at #1 with Tsiranidis at #2 and Olive-Blanco at #3.In the back half of the field, Shah earned a win at #5 and Griffin Schlesinger picked up a victory at #6.
 
First serve between the Stags and Hawks is slated for noon tomorrow. The match is the set be the regular season finale for both teams, though each squad has a postponed match with Marist on the slate that has not be rescheduled at this time.
