LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Fairfield University Men's Tennis remained unbeaten in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference with a 7-0 sweep at Rider on Saturday afternoon. The Stags improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the MAAC with the convincing victory.

"This was the type of performance I wanted to see from our guys today," said Head Coach
Jeff Bricker. "They came out with a ton of energy and rolled. We have another conference match tomorrow, so it was important to capitalize on our opportunities to get off the court quickly."

The singles roster saw
Kaya Gore at the top of the lineup, followed by
Stathis Tsiranidis,
Jonathan Olive-Blanco,
Lewis Edwards,
Keean Shah and
Griffin Schlesinger. Five of the Stags were victorious in straight sets, while
Lewis Edwards overcame a first-set loss with authority to grab a 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-2) win.

In doubles play, Gore and Tsiranidis took the #1 spot followed by Shah and Olive-Blanco at #2 and Edwards pairing with
Allan Magid in the #3 position.

The Stags return to action tomorrow for a Sunday visit from Siena. Due to the expectation of inclement weather, the match with the Saints will be contested indoors at the Tennis Club of Trumbull.
