ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Fairfield University Women's Basketball team will close out their longest road trip of the season when they head to Annapolis, Md., to face the Navy Mids on Tuesday at 6pm. This will be just the second all-time meeting in the series, with the Stags taking the first contest 66-52 in 2019.

The Stags split their two games in the MAAC/ASUN Challenge, defeating Stetson but falling to Florida Gulf Coast at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Fairfield opened up play with an impressive 59-50 victory against Stetson which featured a season-high 22 points from
Lou Lopez-Senechal and a career-high 18 rebounds by
Andrea Hernangomez.

The Stags would compete hard but fall in their final game in the Sunshine State, falling to Florida Gulf Coast, a team that received several votes in the NCAA Top-25 rankings. The Stags led by 10 in the first quarter as they started the contest strong.

Four Stags would finish in double figures in the hard fought loss including a 7-for-8 shooting performance by
Callie Cavanaugh. That effort raised her season field goal percentage to .595, the second highest number in the MAAC and the 53rd best nationally.

Hernangomez added on to her career performance against Stetson to bring down 12 boards against the Eagles. The senior is averaging 11.5 rebounds a game early on in the season, placing second in the MAAC and 19th nationally. On the defensive end, Hernangomez is pulling down 9.5 defensive rebounds per game, the fourth highest number in the NCAA.

Navy enters the game with a 2-2 record after winning back-to-back games against William & Mary and Vermont. Jennifer Coleman leads the team with a Patriot League leading 23.3 scoring average while pulling down a team best 9.8 rebounds.

The Stags will be back in action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Yale at 4:30 pm. This will be the nightcap of a Fairfield basketball doubleheader at Webster Bank Arena with the men's team taking on Loyola (Md.) at 2pm.
