Men's Soccer Announces All-Decade Team

The Fairfield University men's soccer program announced its All-Decade team following the completion of the selection process that included fan voting. Eleven starters and four reserves comprise the Stags Men's Soccer All-Decade Team.

Forwards
Jordan Ayris (2011-14) – Ayris was voted to the 2011 MAAC All-Rookie Team as well as 2011 MAAC 1st Team. He was the team's scorer in 2011 with 10 goals and three assists. The forward followed by posting four goals as sophomore and three goals as a senior; He ended his career as one of the program's all-time leading scorers with 19 goals and eight assists for 46 points in 63 games
 
Jack Burridge (2008-11) - Burridge played two seasons in this decade highlighted by his 2011 MAAC 2nd Team honor; tallied seven goals and six assists in 2011. He finished career with 20 goals and 10 assists which ranks among the program's top 10 all-time leading scorers. 

Jon Clements (2010-13) – Clements was named MAAC All-Rookie and to the 2010 MAAC 1st Team, the 2011 MAAC 1st Team; and collected the 2011 MAAC Rookie of the Year. award. He led the team in scoring with three goals and one assist in 2010 and placed third in 2011 with six goals and team-best seven assists; He tallied a personal best seven goals for 14 points in his senior season, one of which was a game winner. Clements also served a dual role as a defensive contributor during his career
 

Midfielders
Diego Casielles (2015-18) – Casielles was selected to the 2015 MAAC 3rd Team and the 2018 MAAC 1st Team. He scored 7 goals and 11 assists in 69 appearances and led team in scoring with five goals and one assist for 11 points as a senior. He recorded points in all four of his seasons, placing in the top four three times; Casielles was second among his teammates with eight points (1 goal, six assists) as a sophomore
 
Matt McGlinchey (2017-Present) – McGlinchey earned 2017 MAAC All-Rookie, 2017 MAAC 2nd Team, and 2018 MAAC 1st Team honors through his first three years with the program. He led the team with six assists in 2018 and has amassed four goals and 10 assists since joining the program; He converted two penalty kicks in 2019 with one coming in overtime at St. Joseph's.
 
Dan Shaw (2010-13) – Shaw was placed on the 2010 MAAC All-Rookie and All-MAAC 2011 2nd teams. He tallied nine goals and seven assists for 25 points during his four-year stay; played in more than 60 games at the position; He netted a goal in Fairfield's 2011 NCAA Tournament game against Brown University.

Jonathan Uy (2014-17) – Uy received a berth to 2014 MAAC All-Rookie Team to begin his Fairfield career. He started 63 of his 73 appearances and scored 2 goals and 2 assists in career. Uy had at least one point in three of his four seasons. He started all 20 games in senior year.
 
Backs
Angus Hastings (2014-17) – Hastings secured 2014 MAAC All-Rookie, 2015 MAAC 2nd Team, 2016 MAAC 2nd Team and 2017 MAAC 2nd Team laurels; He was honored as the 2017 MAAC Tournament MVP. During his career, Hastings scored 5 goals and 1 assist in 71 games (70 starts)/ He placed 3rd with four goals and one assist as senior

Jonny Raj (2009-12), Raj collected a berth to 2010 MAAC 1st Team. He played in 68 of the team's 69 games over four years; scoring two goals and three assists in four seasons; scored a game winning goal in 2009 and 2010
 
Jonas Vergin (2017-Present), Vergin was decorated as a member of the 2017 MAAC All-Rookie and MAAC 2nd Teams as a freshman., He secured All-,MAAC 1st Team berth in 2018 and earned the conference's Defensive Player of the Year award. Vergin played in 50 games and started 45 matches to date and has one career goal which was game winner in 2017

Goalkeeper
Michael O'Keeffe (2009-12), O'Keeffe captured the 2011 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year as the Stags' starting goalkeeper. He also earned spots on 2010 MAAC 1st Team, 2011 MAAC 1st Team, 2012 MAAC 1st Teams. During his four seasons in goal, he posted a 1.13 goals against average over four years with 302 saves and 9 shutouts in 70 matches. He went on to represent New Zealand in the 2012 Summer Olympic games as the team's starting goalkeeper. 

 
Reserves
George Newton (2012-15), Newton earned 2012 MAAC All-Rookie laurels in his first season with the Stags. He opened his career with a goal and two assists including the game winner against Yale; Newton picked up three more assists as a sophomore, helping him finish his career with a goal and five assists for seven points; The defender appeared in 69 games in his career and started every game as a sophomore (16) and as a junior (20)

Diallo Simon-Ponte (2016-19) - Simon-Ponte contributed both as a starter and as a reserve throughout his four seasons. He scored points in each of his four campaigns with his best season coming as a senior with three goals and one assist for seven points which placed second on the team; Was credited with the goal that decided the 2017 MAAC Tournament title, a 1-0 decision over Rider.
 
Matt Turner (2012-15) – Turner was named to 2015 MAAC 2nd Team. He posted 13 shutouts in 2014 and led the nation in shutout percentage. Turner followed up with seven shutouts in 2015 which gave him 0.73 goals against average over the two seasons. He currently serves as the New England Revolution starting goalkeeper. 
 
Ben Wignall (2014-17) – Wignall collected 2014 MAAC All-Rookie and 2017 MAAC 2nd Team honors. He tallied 19 goals and seven assists in 74 games (70 starts) with the Stags. Wignall led the team in scoring in three of his four seasons highlighted by a personal best six goals and three assists for 15 points as a senior; He capped his career with five game-winning goals.
