Women's Swimming and Diving in Fourth after Day 1 of MAAC Championships

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Fairfield Women's Swimming and Diving started the 2020 MAAC Championships with a first and second place finish to give them a total of 88 points. They currently sit in fourth place after one day of competition behind Marist, Canisius, and Rider. Marist leads the pack with 113 points while Canisius and Rider are in second and third place with 97 points and 93 points respectively.
 
The Stags won the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay and finished second in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. Sara Ostensen, Maria Nitti, Rachel Landry and Morgan Hansen won the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay with a final time of 7:32.25. Alexandra Miko-Rydzaj, Colleen Young, Morgan Hansen and Maria Nitti finished second in the 200 Yard Medley Relay clocking in at 1:43.03. 
 
The Fairfield women look to build on their success so far as they return to action tomorrow evening at 6:00 P.M. as they compete in the 500 Yard Freestyle, 200 Yard Individual Medley, 50 Yard Freestyle and the 200 Yard Freestyle.
