Fairfield's Last Time Out
Fairfield used an early flurry of goals to take a 10-4 lead at host Niagara on Saturday and then shut down a late Purple Eagles comeback en route to a 13-10 victory.
Brooke Gallagher led the attack with seven points in the MAAC road victory.
Â
Taylor Mitchell added four goals, including the game-winner, and distributed an assist, with
Kathleen Hulseman netting a pair. Rounding out the attack were
Jillian Winwood and
Diana DeVita with one goal apiece and
Meaghan Graham with one assist.
Â
The effort in the midfield was led by
Kelly Horning, who collected five ground balls for the second consecutive game, and recorded a career-best five caused turnovers.
Â
Megan Beach and
Maggie Reynolds each added three caused turnovers on the Fairfield backline, with Reynolds nabbing five ground balls and Beach scooping up three.
Caroline Mangan added two caused turnovers and two ground balls.

Â
Scouting Manhattan
One of the biggest stories in the MAAC this season, the Manhattan Jaspers are 8-3 overall and 3-0 in the MAAC, following up on a 5-11 season (2-6 MAAC) in 2018. The Jaspers' eight victories are already the highest single-season win total since wrapping up the 2009 campaign at 11-5.
Â
The Manhattan offense is led by Molly Fitzpatrick with a team-best 30 goals and 32 total points. Grace Lipponer adds 17 goals and nine assists in her rookie campaign, and Cassidy Burns is the team's top facilitator with 17 goals to go along with nine goals of her own.
Â
Senior goalkeeper Nikki Prestiano has played all but 13 minutes in the cage for the Jaspers. She has ceded 84 goals with 85 saves to boast a .503 save percentage and a MAAC-best 7.79 goals-against average.
Fairfield has won the last 12 meetings with Manhattan to build a 19-5 lead in the all-time series. The Stags are 8-3 at home against the Jaspers and won the two games in the series to be contested on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium by a combined score of 26-9.
