FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield women's tennis took down St. Francis Brooklyn this afternoon by a score of 5-2 to cap off a fantastic senior day at the Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts.
The Stags dominated Doubles play winning all three matches to take a 1-0 lead.
Aina March and
Amanda Nowak defeated Ana Orozco and Runsi Patro 6-1 at #1 followed up a win from
Courtney Connors and
Sophia Prinos over Jean-Na Koo and Sandra Siles Polo 6-4 at #2.
Gabriella Campos and
Jessica Pil then defeated Sheila Cetina and Martina Radinovic at #3 7-5.
Aina March started off Singles play with a win at #3 Singles over Ana Orozco (6-1, 6-1).
Diana Prinos then took down Sheila Cetina (6-2, 6-2) at #2 Singles.
Amanda Nowak sealed the win for the Stags at #1 Singles with a victory over Jean-Na Koo (6-2, 6-4).
Jessica Pil also picked up a win at #4 Singles over Runsi Patro 8-2.
"We came out with good energy in the doubles and were able to get on top which helped us moving into singles" said Head Coach
Jeff Bricker. "It was a great to honor our seniors Gabby and Courtney."
Fairfield will return to action on Wednesday at 3 P.M. as they travel to Hamden, Connecticut to take on Quinnipiac.
