FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Lacrosse will leave the state of Connecticut for the only time in a 37-day stretch on Wednesday, traveling to Boston for a 4 p.m. clash at Boston University. The Stags head to Massachusetts with a record of 3-1 on the season.

Fairfield's most recent clash was it first loss of 2019 – a 20-11 setback at the hands of Hofstra on Saturday at Rafferty Stadium. The Stags are 2-0 in road outings this season with victories at Holy Cross and Columbia on the ledger.

Brooke Gallagher: MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
After lighting up a pair of opposing defenses with 14 points last week,
Brooke Gallagher has been selected as the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week. Gallagher scored or assisted on more than half of the Stags' tallies in a 1-1 week of non-conference action.

In Wednesday's 14-12 win at Ivy League for Columbia, Gallagher netted a career-high four goals – including the game-winner – and handed out a pair of assists. Her six total points marked a new personal best until Saturday, when she scored two more goals and distributed six assists against the CAA's Hofstra Pride.

Three weeks into the 2019 campaign, Fairfield Women's Lacrosse has earned each of the MAAC's three weekly awards. In addition to Gallagher's recent recognition,
Caroline Mangan was named MAAC Rookie of the Week on Feb. 11 and
Kelly Horning collected MAAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on Feb. 18.

Scouting Boston University
On the heels for a 20-2 trouncing of Hartford on Saturday, Boston University is 2-1 overall in 2019. The Terriers also hold a 17-12 win over UMass Lowell this season with their lone blemish coming in the form of a season-opening 20-6 loss at top-ranked Boston College. Boston U. went 10-8 in 2018 with six of their losses coming against nationally-ranked foes.

Kailey Conry has led the BU attack with a team-leading 18 points (6g, team-high 12a) with Ava Barry as the Terriers' top goal scorer with seven markers through three games. Kennedy Smith has started all three games in the cage, holding a 15.02 goals-against average and .200 save percentage (7 saves, 28 goals allowed). Bianca Smith has played 68 minutes in goals – appearing in all three contests to date – with a 5.28 goals against average and .571 save percentage (8 saves, 6 goals allowed).

Fairfield is winless in three all-time meetings with Boston University over the last three seasons. The last two encounters have been decided by one goal – an 11-10 double-overtime affair last March at Rafferty Stadium and a 10-9 overtime clash in Boston in 2017.
