FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) action comes to Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium for the first time in 2018 as Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse hosts Drexel on Saturday, April 14 at noon. Tickets are on sale now at

Military Appreciation Day
To celebrate the annual
Fairfield Lacrosse Military Appreciation Day doubleheader, the Stags will be selling t-shirts ($10, cash only) and collecting donations this Saturday to benefit
America's VetDogs, a service dog program created to provide enhanced mobility and renewed independence to veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders with disabilities, allowing them to once again live with pride and self-reliance.
In recognition of their service, all veterans, active duty military and emergency services personnel will receive free admission.
Doubleheader Day
Following the noon men's game, Fairfield Women's Lacrosse will celebrate Senior Day prior to a 3 p.m. clash with MAAC foe Marist.
Fairfield's Last Time Out
Travis Ford scored the game-winner with 21 seconds to play and
Max McGuire made his eighth save in the closing seconds as Fairfield rallied past host Hofstra, 5-4, in CAA action last Friday on Long Island. The Stags scored the final three goals of the game – holding the Pride scoreless in the fourth quarter – to pick up the road victory. The win was also the 100th career head coaching triumph for
Andy Copelan.
In addition to Ford's game-winning tally, the Stags got a pair of fourth-quarter goals from
Colin Burke.
Drew Murray and
Spencer Noonan also rattled the cage for Fairfield.
Dylan Beckwith handed out two assists, while
Joe Rodrigues and
Riley Peters each facilitated a goal with one assist apiece.
McGuire's eight-save showing capped his first career win in the cage. For his performance, he was named the
CAA Rookie of the Week.
The defense in front of McGuire was anchored by Noonan, who had three ground balls and a caused turnover in addition to netting his second goal of the spring from the LSM spot, and
Andrew Murrow with four ground balls and a caused turnover.
Scouting Drexel
After seeing Towson pull away for a 17-9 decision last Friday, Drexel comes to Rafferty Stadium owning a record of 4-6 overall and 0-2 in the CAA. The Dragons losses include three to ranked opponents (#11 Virginia, #2 Albany and #7 Villanova) as well as one-goal losses to Saint Joseph's and UMass. Drexel's wins include a victory over #11 Georgetown. The Dragons are 1-4 away from Vidas Field this spring.
Drexel's formidable attack is led by Matthew Varian with 22 goals and 13 assists. Reid Bowering has posted 21 goals with five assists, with Marshal King adding 15 goals and seven helpers.
Jimmeh Koita has handled the bulk of the faceoffs with a .511 win percentage (94-for-184) with Dan Lanham adding 15 wins at a .278 clip (15-for-54).
The Dragons have replaced graduated goalkeeper Jimmy Joe Granito with rookie Chre Teitelbaum, who owns a 10.16 goals-against average and .506 save percentage in 495:57 of work. The defense in front of him is led by Jake Kiernan with 17 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers.

Parking for fans is available on a first come, first served basis. Fans may be directed by Public Safety personnel to designated parking areas. Fans are asked to observe all parking signs as they relate to handicapped, reserved or restricted parking.

Please note that the Walsh Athletic Center/Rafferty Stadium parking lot is closed to the general public during men's and women's lacrosse home games. Tailgating is limited to the Loyola gravel lot (Fairfield) and the Dolan East lot on Mooney Road (Drexel). Tailgating activities are prohibited in all other academic and residential parking lots and in the Kelley Center parking garage.
Handicapped parking is available in all lots for those with proper permits on a first come, first served basis. Those in need of additional assistance are encouraged to contact Fairfield Athletics at 203-254-4000 ext. 2208 to ensure that proper accommodations are met.
The follow items are not permitted inside Rafferty Stadium:
• Alcohol of any kind
• Outside food and drink
• Glass bottles, cans, frozen drinks, coolers, thermoses or ice chests
• Seat cushions measuring larger than 18" and contain zippers, pockets or concealable areas
• Any animal with the exception of a service animal (must provide certification upon request)
• Weapons (including knives), any item that may be used as a projectile or one that is deemed dangerous by Stadium management
• Any other item deemed inappropriate by Stadium management
