FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Fairfield women's tennis continued their early season success today with a 6-1 win over Wagner and improved to 3-0.

The Stags started the day off right with a Doubles competition win taking two of the three matches. Freshmen
Aina March and
Amanda Nowak defeated Samantha Lugtu and Emma Reeves (6-1) in #2 Doubles while
Jessica Pil and
Gabriella Campos won their match against Alegra d'Alessandro and Melanie Post (6-3) in #3 Doubles.Â

Anna Komer had the first win of Singles competition for the Stags as she took down Samantha Lugtu (6-2, 6-0) in #3 Singles.Â
Sophia Prinos then defeated Alegra d'Alessandro (6-3, 6-4) in #6 Singles while
Aina March picked up another win in #4 Singles over Rina Baynes (6-2, 6-0). In #2 Singles,
Amanda Nowak defeated Vedika Anand (6-3, 6-3). To finished out Singles competition,
Jessica Pil took home a win over Emma Reeves (6-3, 4-6, 10-6).

"In Doubles, we had very strong showings at 2 & 3 which really got us off on the right foot" said Head Coach
Jeff Bricker. Â "We had much better energy from start to finish in Singles which showed with the results. I'm looking forward to getting to compete tomorrow with an out-of-region team. It is a great opportunity for us."

Tomorrow morning the Stags will host UC Irvine at 10 A.M. on the Walsh Athletic Center tennis courts.Â
