Fairfield Tabs Connor Donnelly as Assistant Director of Athletic Giving

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Connor Donnelly has joined the Fairfield University Athletic Development office as the Assistant Director of Athletic Giving. Donnelly will work with Nick Wormley, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development, as the primary fundraisers for Fairfield Athletics. He will also assist University Advancement in achieving institutional goals for all aspects of annual support and alumni giving as the University approaches the successful conclusion of its $210 million Fairfield Rising campaign.

"I am excited for the opportunity to work at such a prestigious institution as Fairfield University, and to help better the student-athlete experience of all Fairfield student-athletes," said Donnelly.

"We are thrilled to welcome Connor to the Fairfield family. I saw Connor in action as the Northeast Conference SAAC President and NCAA SAAC representative. He has a bright future in athletic administration and we are fortunate to have him join our team. He will be a great asset to our coaches, administration and staff," Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann said.

Donnelly most recently worked at Fordham University in the Office of Development and University Relations. In his time with the Rams, he was integral in fundraising and philanthropic efforts for alumni, young alumni and current Fordham students.

A 2016 graduate of Sacred Heart with a double major in Sports Management and Marketing, Donnelly earned an MBA from Sacred Heart this past June while working as a graduate assistant in the Office of Alumni Engagement.

"Having worked alongside Connor at Sacred Heart, I have seen his enthusiasm and work ethic firsthand," said Wormley. "His passion for college athletics and his skill as a relationship builder will be tremendous assets for our department."

Donnelly was a member of the Sacred Heart golf team, serving as a member of Northeast Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). He was elected co-chair of National SAAC, where he acted as a leading student-athlete voice in NCAA Council meetings.
