The 2026 Fairfield Athletics Hall of Fame ceremony will be held on Sunday, Feb. 1 beginning at 10 AM at the University's Dolan School of Business. Registration is now open.
Laura Gleason '96 was the first superstar in the storied history of Fairfield Volleyball. She graduated as the program leader in career kills (1,243), points (1,741.5) and blocks (605). Thirty years later, Gleason still ranks fourth in points, eighth in kills, and remains the Stags' leader in blocks by nearly 200. She is only player in Fairfield Volleyball history to average more than one block per set, she holds the top four spots on the single-season blocks list, and also set the Fairfield single-game record with 18 blocks in one match.
Gleason was the 1993 MAAC Player of the Year – the first in program history.
Jessica Keefe '12 is the most decorated student-athlete in Fairfield Women's Rowing history. She is the only women's rower in program history with three MAAC gold medals – winning with the Novice 8 in 2009, the Varsity Pair in 2010 and the Varsity 4 in 2012 (the 2011 MAAC Championship was not held due to inclement weather). She also earned a silver medal in the Novice 4 and a bronze in the Varsity 4 at the 2009 MAAC Championship, totaling five conference medals in her career.
On the national stage, Keefe won a silver medal in the Varsity Pair at the 2010 Dad Vail National Championship Regatta and a gold in the same event in 2011 – the first and only varsity gold at Dad Vails in program history. Keefe also won multiple gold medals at the Spring Metropolitan Regatta and claimed the Stags' first-ever medal at the prestigious Knecht Cup, collecting a silver in the Varsity Pair in 2011.
A four-time All-MAAC honoree,
Lauren Liseth '14 was one of the most feared hitters in MAAC Softball from 2011-14. She shares the Fairfield program record with 24 home runs and ranks second with 124 runs batted in. Liseth is also Fairfield's all-time leader in total bases (324) and ranks second in triples (14) and walks (108). As a junior, she hit .389 with seven home runs and 37 RBI – all while being issued 55 walks in 50 games by opposing pitchers – en route to MAAC Player of the Year honors.
Liseth was also the 2011 MAAC Rookie of the Year, a three-time All-MAAC First Team selection (2012, 2013, 2014), and a two-time NFCA All-Northeast Region Second Team pick (2013, 2014). Fairfield Softball won 111 games in her four years, including a pair of 31-win seasons, and won a share of the MAAC Regular Season Championship in 2011 and 2013.
Joe Michalisin '12 totaled seven All-MAAC selections in his four years on the courts for Fairfield Men's Tennis. Playing nearly his entire career in the top two flights of singles and doubles, Michalisin posted a final record of 80-40 in singles competition (21-3 MAAC) and 92-42 in doubles (22-2 MAAC) from 2008-12. He was the MAAC Player and Rookie of the Year in 2009 and repeated as Player of the Year in 2010. Michalisin was also an All-MAAC First Team honoree three times in singles and three times in doubles in addition to one All-MAAC Second Team doubles nod.
During his career, Fairfield Men's Tennis went 61-24 in dual matches, highlighted by a 21-4 record against MAAC foes. He helped lead the Stags to the MAAC Regular Season Championship in 2009 and the MAAC Tournament Championship in 2012 to send Fairfield to its first-ever NCAA postseason appearance.
Dana Postupack '10 was one of the driving forces behind back-to-back MAAC Championship teams for Fairfield Women's Tennis. A three-time All-MAAC selection in doubles and a two-time honoree in singles, Postupack won 64 singles matches – 30 of which came in the #1 singles position – and went 75-37 in doubles in her career.
Postupack helped lead the Stags to the MAAC Championship in 2009 and 2010, as well as the program's first-ever MAAC Regular Season Championship in the 2010 campaign. She was named the 2010 MAAC Championship Most Valuable Player, capped by a win at #1 singles in the championship match against Marist.
Matt Turner '17 took over the starting goalkeeper job from Hall of Famer Michael O'Keeffe beginning in 2014 and continued the tradition of success in net both for the Stags and on the professional and international stage. Turner is Fairfield's all-time leader with a 0.77 goals-against average and shares the program history of 20 clean sheets – including a single-season record 13 shutouts in 2014. In that season, the junior goalkeeper led the nation with a .886 save percentage and ranked third nationally with a 0.50 goals-against average. He closed his career as an All-MAAC Second Team pick in 2015.
Since making his exit from Lessing Field, Turner has made over 200 appearances for club and country. He earned 52 caps with the U.S. Men's National Team, including making the start in the 2022 World Cup, and also won the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup with the USMNT. Turner became the first MAAC Goalkeeper to ever play in the English Premier League when he took the pitch for Arsenal and later with Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, helping guide the latter to the FA Cup in 2025.
The
2000 Volleyball team made history as the first MAAC team to ever win a set in the NCAA Tournament, taking a frame from #15 Pepperdine in Malibu. Led by Head Coach Mitch Jacobs, the Stags finished that season ay 25-7. In addition to a perfect run to a fourth consecutive MAAC Championship and fifth straight MAAC Regular Season Championship, Fairfield picked up wins over Clemson, West Virginia, UConn, and Oregon State. In addition, five of the Stags' seven losses came to nationally-ranked or high major opponents, including taking a set from #1 Stanford and challenging #3 Penn State, #17 BYU, and Notre Dame.
Individually, the 2000 Stags included Fairfield Athletics Hall of Famers Corrine Carlson and Joanne Saunders, both of whom were All-MAAC First Team selections in 2000. The roster also featured 2000 MAAC Player of the Year Conny Paul and Rookie of the Year Kelly Sorenson. Paul and Saunders went on to add AVCA All-Region laurels.
The Fairfield Athletics Hall of Fame is voted upon by a committee comprised of alumni, current Hall of Famers, and University personnel. Nominations are accepted year-round via
