Jake Knostman Named CAA Men's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year

RICHMOND, Va. – Jake Knostman – a member of Fairfield University's Class of 2017 – has been named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Knostman was previously tabbed as a USILA Scholar All-American, Academic All-New England honoree and CAA All-Academic Team selection following the final campaign of his standout career for the Stags.

One of 20 candidates nationwide for the Senior CLASS Award this past year, Knostman earned Dean's List honors in every semester of his collegiate career en route to a 3.99 cumulative grade-point average as a double major in Information Systems and Economics. He is a Magis Scholar and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Omicron Delta Epsilon – the honor societies for business and economics, respectively. On the field, the two-year co-captain scored 54 goals with 15 assists in four years with the Stags. He finished his career with 62 games played – one appearance shy of the program record.

The 2017 Fairfield Alumni Association Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Knostman is the second Stag to be named the CAA Men's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year in Fairfield's three seasons as a member of the conference. His former teammate Tristan Sperry '15 earned the honor following his senior campaign in 2015.
