The varsity 4 finished off its three-day odyssey by finishing fifth in the C Final at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association championships which translates into 17th place in the national event. The Stags were making their second straight appearance at the IRA championships, and enjoyed their best finish in the varsity 4 at this event.
The crew battled throughout the weekend before earning a spot in the C final, guaranteeing the student-athletes a finish between 13th and 18th in this national competition. With its fifth place finish in the C final, Fairfield comes away with 17th place. The Stags secured the spot with a time of 6:44.48, finishing behind Holy Cross (6:33.34), Colgate (6:39.11), Oregon State (6:42.39), and Columbia (6:43.69) but ahead of Penn (6:44.90) in the C final.
This year's boat included Will Quentin, Casey Fuller, John Imor, Lars Erickson, and coxswain Matt Marshall.
