FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University swimming and diving teams travel to Boston, Mass. on Friday for the three-day Terrier Invitational hosted by Boston University. The Stags will be one of eight schools competing Along with the hosts, the field will be made up of Army, Bridgeport, UMass, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Boston College.

Fairfield has had nearly a two-week layoff since their last competition. Back on November 5, they hosted Marist at the RecPlex Pool. The women's team fell by a score of 168-126 while the men lost 182-99.

The women had a strong showing in both relays, taking the top spot in each event. In the 200m Medley Relay it was Kristin Kunnapas, Colleen Young, Meghan Guinee, and Oreoluwa Cherebin that took home the top spot. And in the 200m Freestyle Relay Kelly Cordes, Young, Cherebin, and Donna Lam touched the wall in first place. Young also had two individual top place finishes in the 100 breaststroke (17:17.38) and in the 200 breaststroke (2:47.49).

The men's side was headlined by two first place finishes by freshman Jordan Rahurahu. He earned the top spot in the 200 butterfly with a personal best 2:10.95 and first place in the 400 IM (4:48.68). The freshman also had a second place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:35.74). 

In diving action, Kylie More was the top Fairfield finisher against the Red Foxes in the 1-meter with a third place finish after scoring 203.48. Jane Rice placed second in the 3-meter event with a score of 218.33. Alex Shabecoff earned a pair of third place finishes, he scored 152.33 in the 1-meter and 182.10 in the 3-meter.

This weekend's invitational will be the final competition of 2016 for the swimming and diving program. Their next action will be at St. Francis Brooklyn on January 14.
