FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University field hockey team will continue league play and travel to Bryant on Friday at 4:00 p.m. before visiting Siena on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
 Fairfield (3-10, 1-0 MAAC) vs. Bryant (1-11, 1-1 MAAC): The Stags are 2-0 all-time against the Bulldogs. Last season, Fairfield earned a 4-1 victory at University Field. Â
 A Look at the Bulldogs: Bryant opened MAAC play with a 6-0 victory over LIU Brooklyn on October 7. Then on the 9th, the Bulldogs lost to Rider 2-1. Senior forward Victoria Danby leads her squad with 10 points off four goals and two assists. Sophomore Marissa Elizardo has started all 12 games in cage. The netminder has 62 saves and posts a 2.32 goals against average. Â
 Fairfield (3-10, 1-0 MAAC) vs. Siena (2-8, 1-1 MAAC): The Stags are 18-6 all-time against the Saints. The Stags have won seven in a row against Siena, including last season's 6-1 victory at University Field.
 A Look at the Saints: Siena split their first two MAAC matchups, losing 5-0 to Monmouth in the opener before topping Sacred Heart 2-1 in a shootout. Sophomore forward Fariyah Omarshah leads the team with 10 points off four goals and two assists. Freshman goalkeeper Mary Crumlish has made all 10 starts for the Saints. She has 91 saves and a 3.76 goals against average this season.
Last Time Out: Last weekend, Fairfield grabbed a win over MAAC foe Rider and then a non-league win over Villanova. In the 3-1 win over Rider, Ann Burgoyne knocked in two goals while Hannah Pike picked up the third. And Caitlin Bennett made 14 saves in cage. Then against Villanova, the Stags scored four goals after being down 1-0 early in the second half. Julie de Paeuw registered two goals and an assist, Emma Clark and Jamie Appelberg each tallied one score.
 Milestone Watch: Senior forward Ann Burgoyne has now compiled the most goals in Fairfield history with 50 career scores. The forward is also second with 110 points, just two shy of the record for a career. Julie de Paeuw can jump into the Top 10 this season as well, she has compiled 24 goals and 60 points over her career, ranking 8th on each of Fairfield's all-time lists. Goalkeeper Caitlin Bennett can add to her impressive career during her final season as a Stag. Currently she ranks third in games played (63), third in wins (27), third in winning percentage (.471), and sixth in goals against average (2.52).
Defensive Player of the Week: Senior goalkeeper Caitlin Bennett was named the MAAC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week after powering Fairfield to two victories over the weekend. It's the second straight week a Stag has won the defensive weekly award as sophomore Caitlin Gilligan earned the honor last week.In the MAAC opening win over Rider, the senior posted 14 saves against 22 total shots in a 3-1 victory. Then against Big East foe Villanova, she made seven saves in the 4-1 win. At the half the keeper had just one save, but in the second frame she stepped up to preserve the lead for Fairfield. For the week she posted a 1.00 goals against average, 21 saves, and a .913 save percentage.
Looking Ahead: Fairfield plays two more conference games next weekend, hosting Sacred Heart on Friday before travelling to Monmouth on Sunday.
