Biography

2016: All-ECAC First Team...NFHCA All-Mideast Region First Team...All-MAAC First Team…MAAC All-Academic Team… MAAC All-Championship Team… NFHCA Division I Senior All-Star… The senior captain led Fairfield on offense with 35 points off a team best 13 goals while ranking second best with a career-high nine assists. All three of those numbers ranks in the top five for a single season.  Burgoyne cemented herself in the Fairfield record books racking up the most points (126) and goals (56) in program history. She also tied the career record with nine game-winning goals.

2015: All-ECAC Second Team...NFHCA All-Mideast Region First Team...MAAC Offensive Player of the Year...All-MAAC First Team...MAAC All-Championship Team...MAAC All-Academic Team... 2015 ZAG Field Hockey/ NFHCA Div. I National Academic Squad...Fairfield University Alumni Association Female Student-Athlete of the Year...The junior captain was once again one of the top goal scorers in the nation. She led her team in points and goals and tied her single season program record with 19 goals and set a new record with 40 points this season. The junior was tops in the MAAC in points, points per game, goals, and goals per game.Ranked fourth nationally with 1.00 goals per game and seventh with 2.11 points per game.

2014: ECAC All-Star Second Team… NFHCA All-Mideast Region Team… America East Offensive Player of the Year… America East First Team… America East All-Academic Team… America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll… Burgoyne earned ECAC All-Star Second Team and NFHCA All-Mideast Region Team accolades after an impressive sophomore campaign at Fairfield. She was also the first Stag in program history to earn the America East Offensive Player of the Year award. Burgoyne competed in all 19 contests, with 18 starts, as a forward and the team’s top offensive threat. She was the team’s leading scorer, recording 19 goals, with one assist, to finish the season with a team-high 39 points. Burgoyne had six multi-goal games, including hat tricks against Lehigh and Vermont. This year, she had three game-winning goals to her credit, against Lehigh, Vermont, and UMass Lowell. Burgoyne tallied 50 shots on the year, with 40 on goal, and earned a shots on goal percentage of .800. Burgoyne finished the campaign ranked fourth in the nation with 1.000 goals per game, 12th in points per game (2.05), and set new single-season program records in goals (19) and points (39).  

2013:  NFHCA All-Academic Team… Burgoyne served as an offensive threat for the Stags with an impressive freshman campaign. She tallied five goals, two of which were game-winners, with two assists for a total 12 points. Burgoyne garnered conference Rookie of the Week honors on September 30. The freshman appeared in 16 out of 18 games and started in six. Her collegiate debut was on August 30 in the season opener against Lehigh. Her first collegiate goal was against Princeton on September 7. Burgoyne had two multigoal games, in which she scored two goals, against La Salle on September 15 and Monmouth on September 27. She netted the game-winning goals in both of those contests. The summer following the 2013 campaign, Burgoyne was the only Stag in program history to be selected to participate in the 2014 Women’s National Championship.

Before Fairfield: Burgoyne played for Mount St. Joseph Academy where she was named AACA All-Star for three years and received Academic All-State honors. She was also selected for an All-State Honorable Mention. She also played two club seasons for Mystx field hockey. For her efforts in the classroom, Burgoyne was awarded First and Second Honors and was also a member of the National Latin Honor Society.

Personal: Daughter of Tracey and Steve Burgoyne ... Has three siblings, Bridget (24), John (23), and Libby (18)... Cousin Michele Piccaro is a 2014 graduate of Fairfield... Participated in three community service activities including Tutoring at Cesar Batalla School in Bridgeport, Relay for Life, and Hall House... Named to the University's Dean's List... Major is Film, Television, and Media.
